The Group Violence Reduction Strategy invests in community-based organizations that provide intervention and prevention services to individuals at the highest risk of gun violence while strengthening partnerships in the District. Awarded organizations will work in designated communities to:

  • Strengthen community safety.

Funding is designated to support individuals ages 18–35 who are at the highest risk of violence and who may be resistant to or ineligible for other services.

ONSE anticipates awarding up to approximately $600,000 for Wards 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, and up to approximately $700,000 for Wards 7 and 8. Award amounts are estimates and are contingent upon the quality of applications received and the availability of funding.
