Kwelli D. Sneed was recently named Interim Director of the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE).
Interim Director Sneed is a long-time District employee with a 15+-years of career building, transforming, and strengthening agencies. From 2007 to 2011, she worked at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), as Special Assistant and then Deputy Director of Transportation. From 2011 to 2015, she served as Employee and Labor Relations Officer at the Department of Public Works, then she served as Human Resources Officer, Deputy Director of Administrative Services, and Interim Chief of Staff at the Department of Parks and Recreation and then Chief of Staff at the Department of General Services.
As the Dean of the Department of Human Resources, City University and Career Pathways programs, she was recruited to drive the development of a people-focused strategy and program designed to develop the human capital for the District government; and to establish effective pathways for District residents into District government careers.
Interim Director Sneed recently served as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor at ONSE, leading the office’s human resource, capital, and organizational planning. She drives organizational effectiveness through accountability and positive change management.
Born and raised in DC, her impact is felt in the communities she serves. Interim Director Sneed is a relentless innovator, thinker, and powered by possibilities and stimulated by problems. She is a graduate of Florida A&M University.
