The Pathways Program is a transitional employment program that aims to decrease participants’ involvement in the criminal justice system and improve their employment, education and training outcomes. Individuals referred to this program are ages 20-35 and have been identified as being at risk of participating in, and/or being victims of violent crime.

ONSE contracts with three community-based organizations that cover priority communities in Wards 1-5, Wards 6-7 and Ward 8.

The Family and Survivor Support (FSS) division, formerly known as Community Stabilization Protocol, is the District’s response to community violence.

The ONSE Leadership Academy (OLA) is a school-based pilot initiative launched in Fall of 2019 in partnership with Anacostia High School and the Department of Employment Services’ Year-Round Youth Program.

In Summer of 2020, ONSE launched the Community Response Team (CRT), which is focused on strengthening placed-based services for communities impacted by violent crime. The mission of the CRT is to empower communities to uplift themselves in response to neighborhood violence and build a self-sufficient infrastructure where resources and services are accessible and utilized.
