ONSE Leadership

The leadership of the Safer Stronger DC Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, (ONSE) follows:

Delbert "Del" McFadden
Executive Director

Delbert “Del” McFadden is the Executive Director of the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) for the District of Columbia. Director McFadden is a community organizer and educator with experience in implementing evidence-based violence prevention and intervention programs across the city. During a long career at Collaborative Solutions for Communities, located in Ward 1, Mr. McFadden served as coordinator for numerous intervention programs, including Weed and Seed, Project Safe Neighborhood and the Citywide Coordinating Council on Youth Violence Prevention.

In twenty years of service, Mr. McFadden has made significant strides in advocating for disadvantaged youth and reducing criminal elements in targeted communities. He has a proven track record building cross-sector collaborative relationships with government agencies, community based organizations and stakeholders groups. Mr. McFadden worked in conjunction with late Councilmember Jim Graham, the Metropolitan Police Department and community residents to reduce gun violence in the Columbia Heights community.
